Physics for Scientists and Engineers: For Scientists and Engineers with Modern Physics: Extended Version By Paul M. Fishbane, Stephen Gasiorowicz, Steve Thornton
Publisher: Pearson Education Number Of Pages: 1440 Publication Date: 2004-06-17 ISBN-10 / ASIN: 0131911821 Format: Djvu Size: 48 Mb
Reader's review: Please consider this as one of the defacto first year Physics texts for undergradautes. It covers all of the fundamentals you can expect to learn such as E-M theory, Mechanics, Dynamics, Atomic theory and a little bit of Space Science.[ The book is divided up in to clear sections and contains lots of problems with answers at the rear of the book. A lot of the questions set in my first year were based on questions in this book. Considering the breath of the material this can be a one stop shop for most students.
Wavelet Analysis and Applications (Applied and Numerical Harmonic Analysis) by Tao Qian (Editor), Mang I. Vai (Editor), Xu Yuesheng (Editor) Birkh?¤user Basel ISBN-10: 3764377771 Year:2006 588 pages Format: PDF 15.6 MB
This volume reflects the latest developments in the area of wavelet analysis and its applications. Since the cornerstone lecture of Yves Meyer presented at the ICM 1990 in Kyoto, to some extent, wavelet analysis has often been said to be mainly an applied area. However, a significant percentage of contributions now are connected to theoretical mathematical areas, and the concept of wavelets continuously stretches across various disciplines of mathematics.
* Approximation and Fourier Analysis
* Construction of Wavelets and Frame Theory
* Fractal and Multifractal Theory
* Wavelets in Numerical Analysis
* Time-Frequency Analysis
* Adaptive Representation of Nonlinear and Non-stationary Signals
Tyler Volk,?«What is Death: A Scientist Looks at the Cycle of Life?» John Wiley ISBN 0471375446 2002 Year Format: PDF 1,60 Mb size 256 Pages
Answering the question "What is death?" by focusing on the individual is blinkered. It restricts attention to a narrow zone around the individual body of a creature. Instead, how expansive is the answer we receive when we look at the context of death within the biosphere. Death now is tied to all of life, via the atmosphere and ocean. Death supports the awesome biological enterprise of making abundant the green and squiggly life. Talk about death has headed us straight into a contemplation of life, not only individual life, but big life, life on a global scale. Death and life are neatly dovetailed by the supreme cabinetmaker of evolution. Again, the crucial feature is not the death of any one creature per se, but rather what is done with death. To reach into the meaning of death, we must reach out into the wider context of which death is a part.
Vinyl Acetate Emulsion Polymerization and Copolymerization with Acrylic Monomers by H. Yildirim Erbil Publisher: CRC 336 Pages 2000-03-22 ISBN: 0849323037 EAN: 9780849323034 3,84 Mb size
Polyvinylacetate and vinyl acetate-acrylic copolymer lattices are very important in adhesives, paint, binders for non-wovens, paper and textile additive industries, and many related industries; their production is growing steadily both in actual quantities and different applications. written primarily as an introduction for researchers and as a guide to anyone who wishes to use it in applied work. Throughout the book, considerable attention is devoted to experimental aspects and as such should also serve as a useful reference source.
Jessica Sobanski, ?«Visual Math: See How Math Makes Sense?» 208 pages Publisher: LearningExpress; 1 edition (March 1, 2002) Language: English ISBN-10: 1576854043 Format: PDF 3,3 MB
Visual Math has been designed to allow learners to "see" why math makes sense. By combining logical math concepts with pictures, previously unclear images will fade and math will suddenly click for you. Pictures, graphs, and diagrams help you understand math questions in the areas of number concepts and properties, fractions and decimals, ratios and proportions, percents, algebra, geometry, and much more. Designed especially for students who have difficulty with conventional math rules, this book gives you step-by step instructions with pictures to help you solve math problems.
Book Info Specifically designed for the visual learner, this book explores shapes from many different perspectives. Questions and answer explanations are presented as pictures so the students will be able to respond to mathematics questions quickly and confidently. Softcover. Adrian Baddeley Eva B. Vedel Jensen Adrian J. Baddeley, ?«Stereology for Statisticians?» ISBN: 1584884053 Publisher: Chapman & Hall/CRC Publication Date: 2004-07-05 Number Of Pages: 416 pdf 9,9 mb
Book Description Stereology for Statisticians sets out the principles of stereology from a statistical viewpoint, focusing on both basic theory and practical implications. It discusses ways to effectively communicate statistical issues to clients, draws attention to common methodological errors, and provides references to essential literature. The first full text on design-based stereology, it opens with a review of classical and modern stereology, followed by a treatment of its mathematical foundations. It then presents core techniques. The final chapters discuss implementing practical sampling designs, summarize the variance of stereological estimators, and describe open problems for further research.
